Sculptra Huntsville

Dr. Bigelow is excited to offer Sculptra aesthetic to her patients in Scottsboro, Alabama who are seeking natural-looking results for facial rejuvenation. Sculptra is an injectable product used to restore lost volume to areas of the face.

Sculptra does not just address lines and wrinkles, but also deep contours in the face which can give a hollow, less-youthful look. Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid which increases collagen
production, creating subtle, natural-looking results over time. Not interested in the dramatic effect of an invasive procedure? This is the product for you.

Sculptra is a special product because it works deep in the dermal layer of the skin to boost collagen production, gently transforming the skin from the inside out. Sculptra is a biodegradable, biocompatible substance which has been proven effective by decades of use by trained physicians. Because results are gradual, you’ll enjoy a more natural rejuvenation of your face and skin.

Sculptra Q&A

Q: What is Sculptra?

A: Sometimes referred to as the “Liquid Facelift”, Sculptra is an injectable filler product that, when injected below the skin’s surface, restores volume to correct various signs of aging.

Sculptra is a favorite of celebrities and those who have previously used shorter-term fillers love it for its longevity and how natural the effects look over time.

Sculptra is composed of poly-L-lactic acid, which breaks down into water and carbon dioxide leaving a tiny trail of crystals that stimulate your tissue to make its own collagen. The effects are long lasting; they were shown in a clinical study to last up to 2 years after the first treatment session (and some patients as much as five years).

Q: How much does Sculptra Cost?

A: The price of Sculptra at Bigelow Cosmetic Surgery Center is $700 (per vial). An average cosmetic patient is encouraged to have 2-3 treatments, scheduled 6 weeks apart. The number of vials needed for best results will be determined by Dr. Bigelow and the result you wish to achieve. Be sure to check our specials page for current specials on Sculptra.

Q: Who is a candidate for Sculptra?

A: If you have wrinkles anywhere on your face that you wish to diminish, you may be a candidate for Sculptra injections.

Q: What results should I expect?

A: Sculptra is not a “line filler”, but corrects lost volume that occurs with aging and restores youthful contours of the face. It helps to create a more natural facial appearance in those with facial deflation. Sculptra contours the face for a more youthful appearance.

Q: How long does Sculptra Last?

A: Results are natural-looking and appear gradually over a few weeks time. While the results of other fillers (such as Juvederm) last 9-12 months, Sculptra can last two years or more (some say even 5 years) because it resulted in making its own new collagen.

Q: What is the expected recuperation and healing following Sculptra?

A: Immediately following a treatment session, there may be redness, swelling, discomfort, bruising or all of these signs in the area treated. These usually disappear in a few days. Ice should be applied to help decrease swelling. It is highly recommended that patients begin taking a product called “Sineech” immediately after treatment to insure minimal bruising and swelling. Vitamin C intake and topical retinoid, such as SkinMedica Retinol Complex, will also increase optimal results and quicker results. These products and supplements are available in our office.

The treated area should be lightly massaged a few times each day for several days after the treatment session. Most patients feel comfortable going back to their normal routine after treatment.

Q: How many treatments are required?

A: An average cosmetic patient is encouraged to have 2-3 treatments, scheduled 6 weeks apart. Start at a young age and you may never need a facelift!
