How Does CoolSculpting® Work?
Mother Nature, lifestyle or gravity. No matter the culprit, many of us have bulges of stubborn fat.
Crystallized fat cells gradually die off, then are naturally reduce from your body.
Those unwanted bulges contain fat cells which can be resistant to diet and exercise, but not to CoolSculpting®.
In the weeks and months following treatment, remaining fat cells condense, reducing the fat layer.
CoolSculpting® uses controlled colling to target and crystallize fat cells.
CoolSculpting® lets you say goodbye to stubborn fat.
CoolSculpting® Before and After
What to Expect
To initiate the treatment we will position the device on your body. The device will then draw the bulge up between two cooling panels. The sensation is a firm pull and pressure – enough of a pull to ensure the selected tissue will be cooled most efficiently. An hour or so later, depending on your needs, you will be done.
CoolSculpting® is non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately after the procedure. Some patients experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, numbness or discomfort in the treated area, but this is temporary and will resolve completely. Often times, patients return to work after the session is over.
What will the results be?
Many patients are satisfied after 1 treatment but we can discuss a treatment plan that will meet your goals.
When will I see results?
You may start to see changes as quickly as 2 weeks* after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after 1-3 months*. Your body will still be flushing fat cells and will continue doing so for up to 4-6 months* after treatment.
Is it safe?
The CoolSculpting® procedure is FDA-cleared for the flank (love handles), abdomen and thigh. With over 1 million CoolSculpting® procedures worldwide, it has a track record of being safe and effective treatment for non-surgical fat reduction*.
Are there any side effects?
During the procedure you may experience deep pulling, tugging, pinching, numbness or discomfort. Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging and pain. Rare side effects may also occur. You should not have the CoolSculpting® procedure if you suffer from cryoglobulinemia or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. The CoolSculpting® procedure is not a treatment for obesity. As with any medical procedure, ask Dr. Tuesday if the CoolSculpting® procedure is right for you.
Where does the fat go?
Once the treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen), they die and are naturally processed and reduced from the body.
